Stephen joined the Society in 1993 and established our Commercial Lending section. He was appointed Head of Cumberland Business in July 2007. Stephen previously worked for NatWest in Manchester.

Peter Wood joined the Commercial Lending team at the Cumberland in 2004 having previously worked for HSBC for almost 30 years. He worked in a number of cities in the North of England before settling in Cumbria with his family over 20 years ago. Most of Peter's career has been spent lending money to a wide range of businesses.

David Rothwell has been a member of the Commercial Lending team since 1997. Prior to joining the Society he worked for NatWest for 22 years, almost exclusively in front line customer contact roles. In total he has over 30 years experience in the Commercial Banking sector.

David Wallace joined the Society straight from school in 1983. He has undertaken a variety of roles within the Society, including Branch Manager at Ambleside and Windermere branches. He joined the Commercial Lending Dept in 1998.

Lionel Dobson joined the Cumberland in 1994 having spent 20 years working for High Street banks in Retail and Commercial banking. He has worked in various roles since joining the Society before taking up his current position.

Paul joined the Cumberland in 2008 after more than 30 years working for High Street Banks in both Retail and Business Banking positions. Since joining the Society Paul has also worked in various Branch Manager roles before taking up his current position.

Linda joined the Cumberland Business team at the Cumberland in 2007 having previously worked as a Customer Service Team Leader. Most of Linda’s career has been spent dealing with business customers in a variety of industries.
